General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) has named company veteran Amy Johnson as its new president, effective Nov. 3.
Johnson succeeds Amy Gilliland, who left the company earlier this month after nearly a decade leading the business unit. Paul Nedzbala has served as acting president during the transition.
“Amy has a proven track record of leading teams to solve complex and highly technical challenges for our customers,” Phebe Novakovic, General Dynamics’ outgoing CEO, said in the announcement. She added that Johnson’s leadership, operational discipline and commitment to the company’s values would benefit its customers, employees and shareholders.
According to the press release, Johnson has spent 27 years at General Dynamics Mission Systems. Most recently, she was vice president and general manager of the Space, Cyber and Intelligence division. Her experience spans cybersecurity, defense electronics, space and intelligence systems.
A major federal technology provider
GDIT is one of the largest providers of IT services to the US federal government. It supplies cybersecurity, software and networking capabilities to military and civilian agencies, ranging from enterprise systems to tactical-edge applications.
Those capabilities support secure communications, full-spectrum cyber operations and the monitoring of threats to networks.
