Government technology and consulting giant SAIC has announced plans to acquire SilverEdge Government Services for $205 million in cash. The deal is expected to close by mid-2026, SAIC stated.
Strategic Acquisition
SilverEdge, a software-as-a-service (SaaS) company with significant defense and intelligence contracts, is currently owned by Godspeed Capital, a private equity firm focused on the government and defense sectors. SilverEdge was formed in 2022 from the merger of Varen Technologies, Exceptional Software Strategies, and Savli Group, and later acquired Gardetto and Counter Threat Solutions.
SAIC said in a press release that the acquisition advances its strategy of bringing mission-focused, IP-based solutions and commercial products to its customers, with no layoffs expected. The integration of SilverEdge’s SaaS products and expertise will enhance SAIC’s ability to deliver real-time mission-based solutions with speed, efficiency, and agility.
SilverEdge’s Portfolio
While SilverEdge maintains a relatively low public profile regarding its clients and revenues, press releases and news reports indicate that it operates extensively in the classified sector, including a $164 million contract for undisclosed U.S. government agencies. A notable exception is its subcontract on a Section 508 disability access project at the National Geo-Spatial Intelligence Agency (NGA).
MynAI: An „Agentic” AI for Government Agencies
SilverEdge recently launched MynAI, an „agentic” AI optimized for U.S. government agencies. MynAI is designed not only to generate text but also to perform bureaucratic functions autonomously. The AI is authorized for Top Secret/Secure Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) and is already operational at multiple National Security Agencies.
SAIC: A DC Mainstay
SAIC, which stands for Science Applications International Corporation, is one of the largest defense contractors globally. Founded in 1969, the company has been a mainstay in Washington, D.C., for decades, spinning off Leidos in 2013.
