Arabic Podcast Continues to Fill Critical Content Gap
Al-Raqib Podcast has launched its second season, maintaining its position as a leading Arabic-language resource dedicated to defense and geopolitical affairs within the Arabian Gulf. The new season arrives at a crucial time, as the Middle East undergoes significant shifts that are reshaping global power dynamics.
Hypothetical Scenarios, Real-World Analysis
Al-Raqib retains its unique and dynamic format. Each episode presents a hypothetical near-future scenario that could pose a strategic challenge, threat, or opportunity for the Arabian Gulf states. Host Othman Mohammed Al-Anjari then engages prominent experts in politics and defense to meticulously analyze the likelihood of these scenarios and discuss optimal strategies for mitigating risks or capitalizing on opportunities.
Prescient Vision
The podcast’s first season has proven remarkably prescient, with many discussed topics now resonating in current events, from Dr. Fouad Gerges’s prediction of a potential clash between Israel/US and Iran under a Trump presidency, to the examination of soft power strategies with Mr. Mohammed Baharoon, and the analysis of drone defense measures with Dr. Abdulaziz Bin Saqr.
More Profound, More Rigorous
This season features more profound and rigorous questions, reflecting Al-Anjari’s growing experience. Al-Anjari previously gained prominence through his „Wazan” program, where he interviewed notable figures like Amr Moussa, Sheikha Al-Zain Al-Sabah, and Karin Kneissl. His experiences, including filming a documentary in Syria, have refined his interview style, making them bolder and more insightful.
Exclusive Insights into Saudi Defense
A standout episode features a rare media appearance by Engineer Waleed Abu Khaled, former CEO of Saudi Arabian Military Industries (SAMI). Mr. Abu Khaled provides an in-depth look at the Saudi defense industry, drawing on his experience with BAE Systems, General Electric, and Northrop Grumman. Al-Anjari explores the „magic formula” that propelled SAMI to international prominence, as well as the Kingdom’s progress toward localizing half of its defense industries, aligned with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s vision of strategic sovereignty.

Al-Raqib Podcast continues to excel in its guest selection, its boldness in addressing major issues, and its profound analysis of the Gulf’s present and future.
