Israeli giant IAI recently unveiled Ellyon, a revolutionary multi-mission aircraft system designed for electronic attack and advanced intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition, and reconnaissance (ISTAR) capabilities. Introduced at the prestigious Farnborough Airshow, the new platform promises to redefine how air forces perceive and control the modern battlespace.
Ellyon: A complete intelligence and attack arsenal in a single platform
The Ellyon system integrates a full spectrum of technologies, ranging from frequency jamming and SIGINT collection to long-range SAR/GMTI radars and electro-optical sensors. This „all-in-one” configuration is supported by AI-based systems that process massive data streams in real-time to generate strategic insights transmitted instantly to command centers. Although showcased on a Bombardier Global 6500, the technology is „platform-agnostic,” allowing it to be adapted to various business jet platforms, offering flexibility and increased reaction speed.
Hypnosis: The invisible shield against drone swarms through navigational warfare
Alongside Ellyon, the Israeli defense industry launched Hypnosis, an air defense system focused on navigation warfare, specifically designed to counter threats posed by unmanned aerial systems (UAS). In an era where drone swarms are becoming an ever-present threat, Hypnosis operates by neutralizing the attacker’s satellite positioning systems. By disrupting GNSS data, enemy drones lose their ability to navigate to programmed targets, providing a highly effective „soft-kill” protection method for strategic assets.
Technology forged in the fire of modern Middle Eastern conflicts
Company representatives emphasized that the technologies behind Ellyon and Hypnosis are already operationally proven, being part of an elite family of aircraft used by the Israeli defense forces. These systems have accumulated extensive experience in complex missions, ranging from intense operations in Gaza and Lebanon to long-range missions against threats in Yemen or Iran. In an increasingly volatile security environment, these new platforms represent a necessary technological leap to face asymmetric threats and ensure information superiority on the modern front.
